PATRICIA ANN KILLION
Patricia Ann Killion, affectionately known as Pat, was born December 5, 1941 in New York City. She is the daughter of the late Robert Patrick and Mary Riley McDonough. On January 4, 1942 she was baptized at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Isham Street in Inwood, New York City. Pat grew up in Inwood, in a loving family consisting of her parents and her late brother Brian McDonough, and younger brother Sean McDonough.
As a young child and throughout her adult life she was deeply involved in the Catholic Church. Pat turned her love for the church into service with the Marymount Convent for the Sisters of SacredHeart. Although she did not complete her time in the convent, she turned her gift of compassion into a lifelong career helping others through nursing. Pat had many accomplishments and her love for her husband and children was her strength.
Pat met Matt Killion in 1969 and they married shortly after in 1970. One of Pat’s many accomplishments was when she worked at St. Vincent’s Hospital in the East Village. She worked tireless hours in the NIC unit caring for very sick children, which reinforced her deep desire for children of her own. To complete their family, Matt and Pat adopted their children Mark and Justine from Vietnam in the mid-1970’s.
Together the family enjoyed vacations, special occasions and many memorable times. Throughout the years Pat surrounded herself with good friends and family, making her days brighter, joyful and complete. Her enthusiasm for life, love of her friends and family, and dedication to help others in her career is inspirational and will not be forgotten.
Pat is survived by her daughter Justine Killion and son in law Kevin Brown, and her grandson Matthew Killion-Brown, her son Mark Killion and daughter in law Ana Killion, and her granddaughters Lily, Sophia, Harper and Marley Killion, and her brother Sean McDonough. Pat’s spirit will be carried on by family and friends whom she cared for deeply.
