Stephanie's daughter, Christine, and I shared the same grammar school classes. Stephanie and Chris lived across the hall and when we were young kids and our parents were out in the evening, Stephanie would come over to check on us.
My mother told me: she and Stephanie would sometimes go to flea markets back in the 60's(50's too?) when they weren't highly regarded by the middle class.
She always was a cheerful, positive person with a good sense of humor and a hearty laugh.

I have known Stephanie all my life. She originally lived on the same floor that we did in Stuyvesant town. She was my mothers best friend and I have an always considered her my other mother and dear friend. She was generous and kind and loving and beautiful. Her passing leaves a large hole in my heart.

Stephanie was my godmother so I've known her all my life. She was a constant presence in my family's life since -- as my brothers said -- we lived on the same floor and she and my mother were best friends. She was always the person I'd run to when my parents were out and my brothers got too rambunctious. As I grew older, she was the one I'd have morning coffee with or an evening glass of wine with. We would talk about everything-- and after my mother died we'd remember the funny events that happened when the two of them got together. I always said they were like Lucy and Ethel.

I will miss her very much.

I always enjoyed seeing Stephanie at the movie showings at the Community Center at Stuyvesant Town. A very sweet lady through and through. My Condolences to her family.

When I lived in Stuyvesant Town Stephanie was someone I loved to run into and have a short gab. She was smart, gentle and humble. Always concerned for her two grandchildren and adored her daughter, Chris and her late husband, Jerry. She was also discrete and brave. Not a mean bone in her body. And a classic beauty of which she passed down to her daughter. Liza Wherry, Madison, Connecticut
